Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) remains one of the most significant issues affecting our communities. It encompasses a wide range of offences, including harassment, stalking, sexual assault, rape, domestic abuse, coercive control, honour-based abuse, and violence against women and girls in both public and private settings.
To raise awareness and support community safety, the Haverstock Ward Safer Neighbourhood Team will be conducting a VAWG Community Engagement Event on 19 November 2026 at 1700. The event will provide residents with information on recognising the signs of abuse, understanding available support services, reporting concerns, and staying safe both online and in public spaces.
Officers will be available to speak with residents, answer questions, provide crime prevention advice, and discuss how local policing and community partners are working together to tackle violence against women and girls. Information regarding support services for victims and those affected by abuse will also be available.
We encourage all members of the community to attend, learn more about this important issue, and help create a safer environment for everyone in Haverstock Ward. By working together, we can challenge harmful behaviours, support victims, and ensure that violence against women and girls is never tolerated.
